The DJI Osmo Action 6 is a powerhouse for capturing action, but the default “Ultra Wide” lens can sometimes leave your footage looking curved and distorted. π While the fisheye look is great for extreme sports, it isn’t always ideal for vlogging or everyday shooting where you want a more natural, “normal” perspective! π€³
If you want your video to look nice, square, and professional, you need to enable Standard Dewarp mode. Here is the quick step-by-step guide to fixing lens distortion on your Action 6! π οΈπ¬
How to Enable Standard Dewarp Mode βοΈ
- Select Your Video Mode: On the main screen, swipe side-to-side to ensure you are in the specific Video mode you want to adjust. πΉ
- Open Resolution Settings: Tap the text at the bottom of the screen (where it shows your resolution and frame rate, e.g., 4K/60). π
- Access the Lens Menu: In the top right-hand corner, tap the icon that shows your stabilization and lens status (it usually says RS for RockSteady and U Wide). π
- Switch the Lens View: On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see your lens options. You can toggle between Ultra Wide, Wide, and Natural Wide. π
- Select Standard (Dewarp): Tap on Standard (Dewarp). You will immediately notice the image straighten out, removing the “bubble” effect from the edges of your frame! β
- Save and Exit: Simply tap back out to the main screen. Your settings are automatically saved! πΎ

Why Use Standard Dewarp? π€
Switching to the Standard lens makes your DJI Osmo Action 6 footage look more like a traditional camera. It is the best setting for:
- Vlogging: Makes your face and background look proportional. π£οΈ
- Product Reviews: Keeps lines straight and undistorted. π¦
- Everyday Travel: Provides a “normal” field of view that is easier on the eyes. π
