If your Chipolo POP tracker is no longer connecting to your phone or you’ve received a low battery notification in the Chipolo or Find My app, don’t worry. You don’t need a new tracker because you just need a fresh battery. Whether you are using it with an Android device or an iPhone, the replacement process is the same and will get your gear protected again in no time.

Sometimes seeing the process is easier than reading it. Check out my full video breakdown below to see exactly where to pry open the case and how to align the internal cover.
Watch: How to Change Chipolo POP Battery
What You’ll Need
- A New Battery: The Chipolo POP uses a standard CR2032 coin battery. I personally use and recommend Duracell for the best longevity.
- A Small Tool (Optional): While you can use your fingernails, a small kitchen knife or a flat pry tool makes the process much smoother.

Step-by-Step Replacement Guide
1. Open the Outer Case
Locate the small notch around the perimeter of your Chipolo POP. Carefully insert your fingernail or a small tool into the gap and pry the two plastic halves apart.
2. Remove the Internal Battery Cover
Once open, you’ll see a metal or plastic circular cover over the battery. Use your thumbs to rotate this cover counter-clockwise. Once the notches line up, you can lift the cover off.
3. Swap the Battery
Pop out the old CR2032 battery. Take your new battery and place it in the slot with the positive (+) side facing up. You should hear a small “beep” or chirp from the tracker, letting you know it has power!
4. Reassemble the Tracker
- Secure the Cover: Place the internal cover back on, aligning the teeth with the notches. Rotate it clockwise until it’s locked in place.
- Snap the Shell: Align the top and bottom outer covers (make sure the keychain holes line up!) and press them together until they click shut.
