Step 1: Open Your Gmail Settings 🛠️

To get started, log into your Gmail account on your desktop.

Look for the little gear or sprocket icon in the very top right-hand corner of your screen. When you hover over it, it says settings. Click on that to bring up your quick settings. From there, click on the see all settings option at the top of the menu. 🔍

Step 2: Locate the Default Text Style Section 📂

Once your main settings open up, you will see a whole bunch of tabs across the top. Make sure the General tab is selected, which is likely on by default.

Scroll down the page until you find the option that says default text style right here. This is where you can customize exactly how your message text is going to look going forward.

Step 3: Customize Your Font, Size, and Color 🎨🎨

In the default text style section, you can adjust the font, size, and color using the options right beside it:

• Font Style: Left-click on the font option to bring up a whole bunch that you can choose from. You can select options like Comic Sans, Georgia, or Verdana. 🔤
• Text Size: The next option is for size. Click on that to choose from different options if you want your text a little bit larger. 📐
• Text Color: The next option is for text color, allowing you to choose from all sorts of different colors, whether you want a grayer option or a bright blue. 🌈

Gmail provides a small preview window down below these options so you can see exactly what that text is going to look like.

Note: If you do want to reset it to default, simply click the small remove formatting option right next to the preview. 🔄

Step 4: Save Your Changes 💾🚨

This next step is easy to miss, but it is absolutely essential!

You need to scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see an option that says save changes. Go ahead and click on save changes to make your new font permanent. 🎯

Step 5: Test the New Setup 🚀

Once you click save changes, Gmail will take you right back out to the main Gmail page. Click the Compose button to open a new email, and you will see that it automatically comes out with your new font size and color working perfectly. 📬🎉
