How to Turn Widgets On or Off in Windows 11

Are you wanting to remove the Weather Widget from your Windows 11 taskbar for a cleaner look? 🌤️ Or maybe your Widgets button is missing and you want to turn it back on.

Windows 11 makes it easy to turn Widgets on or off directly from your taskbar settings. In this tutorial, I’ll show you exactly where to find the setting and how to change it.

How to Turn Widgets On or Off in Windows 11

Step 1: Open Settings

Head down to the Start menu on your Windows 11 taskbar.

Right-click the Start button, then select Settings from the menu.

Step 2: Open Personalization

Once Settings opens, look at the menu on the left-hand side and select Personalization.

Step 3: Open the Taskbar Settings

Under Personalization, scroll down until you see Taskbar.

Select Taskbar to open the available taskbar settings.

Step 4: Find the Widgets Setting

At the top of the Taskbar settings, you’ll see a section called Taskbar items.

Find Widgets. You’ll see a toggle switch to the right.

Step 5: Turn Widgets On or Off

If Widgets are currently turned on, the toggle will be blue.

Click the toggle to turn Widgets off. You’ll immediately see the Weather Widget disappear from the bottom-left corner of your taskbar.

If you want to bring it back, simply turn the Widgets toggle on again and it will reappear. ✅

Removing the Weather Widget From the Windows 11 Taskbar

If your goal is simply to remove the Weather Widget for a cleaner-looking taskbar, you don’t need to uninstall anything.

Just navigate to:

Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar items > Widgets

Turn Widgets off, and the Weather Widget will disappear from your taskbar.

If you change your mind later, follow the same steps and turn it back on.
