How to Block Someone on Gmail and Automatically Delete Their Emails 🛑

Is your inbox getting cluttered with unwanted messages from specific senders? While clicking “Unsubscribe” is great, sometimes you just want a specific person’s emails to disappear before you even see them.

In today’s tutorial, I’m going to show you how to block someone on Gmail and set up an automatic filter that sends their messages straight to the trash. It’s a game changer for keeping your digital life organized! 🚀

Step 1: Access Your Gmail Settings

To get started, head to the top right-hand corner of your Gmail inbox. Click on the Settings gear icon ⚙️ and then select See all settings. This will open up the main dashboard where we can customize how your mail is handled.

Step 2: Navigate to Filters and Blocked Addresses

Once you’re in the settings menu, look for the tab at the top labeled Filters and Blocked Addresses. Click on that, and you’ll see a blue link that says Create a new filter. Go ahead and select that. 🖱️

Step 3: Identify the Sender

A box will pop up asking for filter criteria. In the From field, type or paste the exact email address you want to block. Once that’s in there, click Create filter at the bottom of that window.

Step 4: Automate the Deletion

Now for the magic part! Gmail will give you a list of options for what to do when an email arrives from that address. Check the box that says Delete it. 🚮

By selecting this, you are telling Gmail to bypass your inbox entirely and send that mail directly to the garbage. Once you’ve checked that, click Create filter again to save your changes.

Step 5: Test It Out

It’s always a good idea to make sure it’s working. If you have a second email account, try sending yourself a test message. If everything is set up correctly, that email won’t show up in your inbox; instead, you’ll find it waiting in your Trash folder! 🗑️✅

And that is all there is to it! It’s a simple way to take back control of your inbox and stop letting annoying emails waste your time.
