Who knew that getting a GoPro for my birthday 8 years ago would change our family’s lives and direction so much. What started as a hobby turned into my career. I just hit 100k subs on YouTube and was awarded the Silver play button! 🥈📸

I want to thank Andrea especially for believing in me and the process. I couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks to my kids Anna, Joel, Thomas, and Melia for the support and for putting up with the house needing to be quiet so I could record. Thanks to my sister Christina for all our YouTube talks and support. ❤️

When I first started, I didn’t really tell many people what I was doing. I didn’t want to be on camera or talk on film, mostly because I was worried about what people would think. Despite keeping what I did low-key, I have definitely had my fair share of eye rolls and critics. Very early on, I remember chatting with someone about it and they told me “nobody subscribes on YouTube anymore.”

I almost quit. It was disheartening that one person’s comment impacted me that much, but then I remember thinking I am going to prove them wrong. I am so glad I didn’t quit. 💪

Thank you to all of those who have supported Northern Viking Everyday and who knows, maybe a Gold play button is in my future. ✨🏆
